Alfred's Letter

My Dear Sir
May I ask you as a gentleman if it is possible to draw my Son Alfred Ward No 801412 from the Army 30th City of London Regt. As he was the only boy at home to help keep his youngers it was without my knowledge that he joined the army. And this being his first leave I haven’t had an explanation from him. He has no Mother and I his Father should esteem it a great favour if you can help me to withdraw him back to civil life as he is not 17 years old before April 16th 1918.
Enclosed please find certificate to show to you his age.
